Description: Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. 8-gallon white glazed crock with birch leaves stamped decoration, circa 1910. Sold as utilitarian containers, Red Wing crocks were used both in the home and on the farm. Stoneware kept hot foods hot, and cold foods cold. With a variety of sizes ranging from 2 to 60 gallons, the Red Wing crocks were sold in the thousands in the years between 1877 and 1947.
