I remember entering the Navy on October 15, 1968. A week or so later I received a clipping from my mother about a protest outside the building (the old Federal building on 3rd Av and Washington Av) while I was inside the building getting inducted into the Navy. After seeing this, I wondered if it was for the same protest as the schedule of events seems to match when the clipping said the protest occurred and the date matches the date I entered the Navy as there is no year on the poster. The odd thing is that those of us entering the Navy that day had no idea there was a protest outside. We didn't hear or see anything as we were kept busy during the day prior to leaving for boot camp.
