I have a Minn Kota trolling Serial # 5531 that needs to be in a museum. It’s all intact and is much older than anything we can find online. Can you help us set a valve to it? Just for fun. Thank you. Billy OBar

We have an almost identical Minn-Kota Troller in our collection at the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry in Wasilla, Alaska. Identical black label serial number 5333 (I've seen red labels with model number and serial number in my research.) Ours lacks the fin on top. Otherwise the same. I see your description says "circa" 1934. Do you have any background or documentation as to the age? (Minn-Kota customer service was no help.) E-Bay has an ad for sale with a picture of the troller that the seller describes as 1945. My guess based on others I've seen that appear newer is that ours is 1945-50. If you can provide any definite information as to age I would greatly appreciate it. (We have 55 motors in our collection. The oldest is a 1913 Evinrude "row boat motor". Most interesting is a 1940 Franklin 65 HP aircraft engine set up to propel a boat.) I wouldn't mind a dialogue if you're so inclined.
