Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Maria Moran was born in St. Paul in 1928. Her parents had come from Mexico in the 1920s. In the late 1950s she founded the Ballet Folklorico Guadalupano, which strives to preserve the regional dances of Mexico. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Ballet Folklorico Guadalupano; childhood life in the West Side community, including early childhood experiences in dancing; regional Mexican dances, costumes and music.
