British penny
Description 1861 British penny (one-cent coin). Its front is engraved with the image of Queen Victoria in profile surrounded by the Latin motto "Victoria D[ei] G[ratia] Britt[ania] Reg[ina] F[idei] D[efensatrix] (Victoria, by the grace of God queen of Britain, defender of the faith.)" Its back is engraved with the image of Britannia seated on her shield surrounded by the words, "One Penny" and the year 1861.
