Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Born July 24, 1901, Carl was the son of Charles Augustus and Frances Moon Weyerhaeuser. He was educated by tutor in Little Falls, Minnesota, attended the Hotchkiss preparatory school in Connecticut, and graduated from Harvard University. He married Edith Greenleaf in 1939 and they had five children: Charles, Henry, Robert, Elizabeth and Carrie. He was not actively involved in the Weyerhaeuser lumbering and milling operations. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Carl Weyerhaeuser discusses growing up in Little Falls, Minnesota, the Weyerhaeuser summer home and activities on Lake Alexander; his friendship with the Musser family; his mother's talent for and interest in music and living in Salzburg, Austria; his interest in writing and literature. He speaks also of his father's character and dedication to his business, the responsibilities of the Weyerhaeuser name and his own relationship to his cousins and other family members.
