Description: Two-piece blue/gray silk charmeuse dress with pearl grey chiffon overlay and Brussels bobbin lace and silk embroidery trim. V-neck/vestee front with layers of white voile, lace and chiffon. Standing lace collar at center back; elbow length set-in sleeves with pin tucks inside elbow. Sleeves have an underlay of lace, embroidered chiffon and are trimmed with self-covered, buttonhole stitched thread buttons. Back of bodice has an overlay of chiffon over the shoulder crossing at waist and forming a swag that attaches to the back of the skirt with four snaps. Lining is white silk taffeta. Grosgrain waistband tacked to center back "Helen/Minneapolis". B) skirt is shirred at the waistline. Inverted pleat at center front opens the length of the skirt with an underlay of embroidered grey chiffon. Skirt lining is grey silk taffeta. Tag at center back closure: "0.3484". Worn by Mary T. Hill. Dress was worn for portrait sitting by Henri Caro-Delvaille, 1913.
