Titles: Highway sign in Russian (Supplied title)
Description: This rectangular highway sign with Cyrillic lettering translating to "Mississippi River" was designed and manufactured by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. It was posted along Interstate 94 at the Dartmouth Bridge (between the Cedar-Riverside area and the University of Minnesota campus area) over the Mississippi River for U.S.S.R. President Mikhail Gorbachev's visit to Minneapolis and St. Paul in 1990. The sign is made of aluminum substrate covered with an adhesive sheet of reflective green vinyl with applied silver and white vinyl adhesive border and Cyrillic (Russian alphabet) lettering. The reflective adhesive sheeting is a product of 3M (Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company).
