Description: A Dakota round leather medallion and dangle trim are for wear on the side of a feather headdress brow band, circa 1900. The medallion is beaded with blue, white, green and red glass seed beads on one side and has a leather thong on the reverse for attachment. A thong wrapped with dyed red quillwork dangles from the medallion and terminates in a metal cone with dyed green horsehair projecting from the larger end. The ornament is from the Cheyenne River Reservation, South Dakota.
