Titles: Dakota beaded leather quillwork armband (Supplied title)
Description: A Dakota leather band beaded at the bottom edge with vertical rows of color bands, circa 1900. The center has openwork quillwork decoration using dyed red and green dyed red and green. The top edge has leather fringe and a row of white seed beads. Five ornaments dangle from the band, each 1.75 inches wide. Each ornament is a quill wrapped leather thong that terminates in a metal cone and has dyed horsehair projecting from the larger end. The armband is from the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, South Dakota.
