Description: Purple satin ribbon with gold lettering which reads: 'HONORARY/MEMBER/VETERANS/ASSOCIATION/GREAT NORTHERN/RAILWAY/Organized Feb. 23, 1913/UNITY LOYALTY/FRATERNITY.' Attached to ribbon is a gold-colored metal clasp and pendant with a rendering of James J. Hill in relief encircled by "Veterans Association of the Great Northern Railway". Badge is housed in a green velvet-lined black cardboard case with a gold-stamped advertisement for the Western Badge and Novelty Company of St. Paul, Minnesota, 1913-1916.
