US Army lieutenant's sword belt plate
Description United States Army enlisted soldier's Model 1851 cast brass sword belt plate. The belt plate features an eagle-and-wreath insignia with a ribbon reading "E PLURIBUS UNUM". It was worn during the Civil War by Lieutenant Mathias Holl of Saint Paul, Minnesota, of the 6th Minnesota Regiment, Company E.
