Description: United States Navy seaman or petty officer's wool flannel double-breasted shell jacket. It was worn by Joseph S. Bennett of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and is marked "224/ J.S. Bennett". The waist-length jacket is lined with polished cotton twill and has two-piece Navy-type gilded brass buttons down the front and on the cuffs.
