Description: Letter written by Oscar Malmros, Minnesota's Adjutant General, at the direction of Governor Alexander Ramsey, to Captain George C. Whitcomb. Whitcomb was the Meeker County treasurer before Ramsey commissioned him Captain and assigned him to organize the Minnesota Home Guard against the Dakota during the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862.
