Gunpowder flask

Description Small zinc gunpowder flask with a die stamped image of a couchant dog and foliate scrolls. The flask also has a brass externally-sprung patent charger. The flask was used during the Civil War by John M. Chapin of the 8th Minnesota Regiment, Company B.
