Description: A necklace, possibly Dakota, of tubular wampum shell carved in various lengths and strung as a necklace, circa the mid-19th century. The shell beads are mostly white with some purple coloration. The necklace was collected by Henry Ladd Carver, quartermaster of the 6th Minnesota Regiment, during the Sibley Expedition.
