Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Jack Stedman was born in Rochester, Minnesota, and lived there until tenth grade (1938), when his parents bought a cabin business near Brainerd, Minnesota. He spent the next four years living and working there. His parents operated the cabins until selling the business in 1965. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Mr. Stedman describes differences between a cabin business and resorts; the heavy workload of daily business and maintenance duties; the cabins' structure and contents; typical guests; techniques for attracting guests; and development of the Brainerd-area tourism industry.
