Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Clifford Peel was a commercial photographer in Minneapolis for over forty years, first working for the Hibbard Studio and then, in 1925, creating his own business: Norton & Peel. He and Walter Norton were the leading commercial photographers in Minneapolis until 1965 when the business was sold. The Minnesota Historical Society owns all the surviving Norton & Peel negatives, including Hibbard negatives which Norton & Peel bought in 1928. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Commercial Photography, assignments, clients, competitors, Walter Norton, C.J. Hibbard.
