Minnesota Black History Project: Interview with Florence Hibbs Daniels
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Mrs. Daniels was born November 19, 1896 in Montreal, Canada. Her parents were Jennie E. Turner (born in Montreal in 1867) and Robert Washington Davis (born in Virginia in 1857). The family moved to Minneapolis in the late 1890s. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Mrs. Daniels discusses family history, her father's business and recalls black community life in Alexandria (Douglas County), Fergus Falls (Otter Tail County) and Minneapolis and St. Paul in the early 1900s.
