Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Susanne had performed many functions at Minnesota Women's Press, Inc. (MWP) since she began working for the company in June 1990. She began her involvement as a book club member and library volunteer. As an employee, she had been involved in the bookshop, front desk, newspaper distribution line, classified ads, ad sales database support, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and subscriptions. She has a BS in math from Marquette University and a MA in theology from the College of St. Catherine. She worked as a computer programmer with the State of Minnesota for twenty-five years. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Experiences in changing relationship with MWP from volunteer to employee; library cataloguing; distribution problems and experiences; maintenance of the 'motherlist' database; description of MWP subscription practices and experiences; formation of BookWomen as national publication; economics of the MWP website; profit centers and accounting at MWP; bookstore; MWP concern for employees; decision-making at MWP; values of MWP; feminism and age diversity at MWP; difficulties of distributing outstate.
