Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Diane worked for Minnesota Women's Press, Inc. (MWP) between 1985 and 1989 on the editorial staff. She was a legislative reporter and the News Notes editor. She was also the initial person to begin contacting large companies for employment ads. Her educational background was in journalism, and she had a variety of jobs both before and after her employment at MWP, including writer, office worker, stenographer, congressional secretary, and family mainstay. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Sources utilized in developing News Notes; her work with Minnesota Women's Consortium; differences between MWP newspaper and mainstream press; important stories that she worked on; problems experienced in developing articles on sexual assault; inspiration for and results of cold calls made on employment ads; influence of editorial staff on newspaper; description of researching story on Tony Stone, first female baseball player; culture at MWP; informational impact of MWP.
