Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: The three interviewees worked in the Production Department of Minnesota Women's Press, Inc. (MWP). Holly has a degree in journalism and women's studies from the University of Minnesota. She was Opinions Editor of the Minnesota Daily and a newsletter editor for the Martin Luther King Program at the University of Minnesota. She held a marketing job prior to joining MWP. Amy has a degree from Metropolitan State University, Minneapolis, and graphics design courses elsewhere. She worked at Metro State as a desktop publisher prior to joining MWP. Lisa has a degree in American Studies from Grinnell College, Iowa. She worked in radio programming at Public Radio International, and held a variety of board and committee positions both before and during her tenure at MWP. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Individual history; emotional rewards of working at MWP and concerns about management; physical and cultural environment at MWP; discussion about competition, hierarchy, honesty and decision-making at MWP; money, compensation, technology and human resource issues; the value of women's stories to MWP and how it affects company's actions; individuals stories and actions of MWP; feminism and MWP; feminism as a white, middle class movement; difficulties in reconciling different viewpoints at MWP; diversity and MWP; what can be done about lack of diversity; leadership and strategic direction at MWP; impact of MWP; why MWP has been successful in Minnesota.
