Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Susan was employed by Minnesota Women's Press, Inc. from 1988 through 1989 as office manager. She also worked on distribution and production. She was the first employee to use in-house technology to produce portions of the classified ads. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Early egalitarian employee pay policies; job flexibility and lack of job descriptions; problems with employee accountability; interaction between sales and editorial sides of organization; early employment ads; effects of financial difficulty on journalism; centralized decision-making; production problems; values and integrity of organization; early reaction of lesbian community to the Minnesota Women's Press.
