Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Katherine was a long-time customer of the newspaper, the Minnesota Women's Press. She maintained a subscription to MWP because she believed in its mission. She was also profiled on the front page in 1985 during the newspaper's first year of operation. She attended the first year birthday celebration, in which all of the profiled women participated. Professionally, Katherine taught science for many years. She was one of two teachers selected in Minnesota by NASA as a Teacher in Space Participant, for the ill-fated Challenger flight 51-L. She served on many educational boards and committees and has received educational grants. She had four children, and raised vegetables and dairy goats with her husband.
