Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Mary participated in book groups at the Minnesota Women's Press, Inc. (MWP) from the beginning. She was usually in at least two book groups at all times beginning in the mid-1980s. She also led several book groups and volunteered with the library, including moving it two times. Her educational background was in education. She taught school for thirteen years, and more recently had done child-care for a similar length of time. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Description of moving the library; sign-up and structure of the early book groups; Glenda Martin's skill as book group leader; various types of book groups; description of Rock Group and Coyote Group; the influence of participating in MWP on personal spirituality and intellectual searches; MWP book groups as community; meeting partner at book group; diversity within book groups; values and impact of MWP; feminism at MWP book groups.
