Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Eric Mosley, a ten year old, was born in Chicago, Illinois. He and his family moved to Minnesota a year ago and are living in a family student housing complex, while his mother attends school. He is a fifth grader at a local elementary school. Yvette Pye, Eric's mother, was born and educated in Chicago. She is currently pursing a graduate degree in Minnesota. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Eric Mosley: Grade school classroom; his teachers; favorite subjects of gym and art; his best friends; after-school activities in Chicago; chores; the move in Minnesota; his home in Minnesota and how that differs from Chicago; differences in people; his grade school experiences in Minnesota; differences in Minnesota classrooms; Minnesota friends; desire to own his own business when he grows up. Yvette Pye: slower and safer pace of Minnesota; the potential for better opportunities for her son; ethnic variety in their housing and Eric's class; Eric's hobbies; thoughts on Eric's future; her early days in Chicago.
