BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Lyle Colligan was under-sheriff of Clearwater County. He started his career as a security guard at Itasca State Park. He was born and raised in the Itasca Park area. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Law enforcement in the park in the 1960s; anecdotes about their equipment, an accident investigation, an accidental dip in the sewer and a Hell's Angel visit; the use of the park by fugitives from the Twin Cities; current commitment of park officials to law enforcement; comments on the people of the park.
