Description: Adaptation of a United States Army Model 1850 Staff and Field Officer's sword (.A) with scabbard (.B). The set was presented to commanding officer Colonel Henry C. Lester of the Third Minnesota Regiment by his line officers on April 14, 1862. The presentation grade, non-regulation sword was made by Tiffany & Company in New York and by Collins & Company in Hartford, Connecticut. The steel scabbard was also made by Tiffany's.
