U of M football sweater worn by Egil Boeckmann in 1903. Dark maroon wool knit football sweater, below the waist length, with gold knit turtleneck, cuffs and hem. Ribbed knit sweater with full-length sleeves. Stitched to the back (est) in gold colored wool felt is "M/ 6 to 6". Boeckmann scored the touchdown that tied the Minnesota-Michigan game in the first "Little Brown Jug" game. Worn to celebrations following the "Little Brown Jug" game. |
