Description: This national battle flag of the 9th Minnesota Infantry consists of one layer of silk with 13 alternating red and white stripes and a blue canton resting on the eighth stripe from the top. The canton is decorated with 35 five-pointed stars, each applied with a gold leaf. The flag is surrounded on three sides by gold fringe and has accompanying cord and tassels.
