Description This national battle flag of the 3rd Minnesota Infantry consists of one layer of silk with 13 alternating red and white stripes and a blue canton resting on the eighth stripe from the top. The canton is decorated with 35 five-pointed stars applied with a gold leaf. The text "3d REGT. MINNESOTA INFANTRY VOLS." is printed on the seventh stripe from the top. The flag is bordered on three sides by gold fringe. See also accompanying flag staff 2007.84.20.B.
