Description: Fragments of a 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment national battle flag used during the Civil War. The fragments include one star, some fringe and the flag staff sleeve. This was likely the fifth national color carried by the regiment, which was used in 1863 at Gettysburg. See also the flag staff used and repaired during Pickett's Charge, 2007.84.23.B.
