8th Minnesota national battle flag
|
| Description | This national battle flag, with cord and tassels, of the 8th Minnesota Infantry has the remains of an inscription on the 4th white stripe. It is possibly the flag that was presented to Company C in 1862 and passed to the regiment in in May 1864. There is an artillery shell hole through the field, as per contemporary accounts of that flag. See also flag staff 2007.84.43.B. |
