She reports personal news about neighbors and friends, including the death of Anna Ramsey's mother and Augusta Ann (Gussie) Sibley's trip to Detroit to visit her aunt, Sarah. Also noted are the departure of the Third Infantry from Fort Snelling and the author's feelings of loneliness as winter approaches.
