Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Betty Carr was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduating from Macalester College with a chemistry degree, she did research on synthetic rubber for two years during the World War II. Carr married, started a family, and moved to Richfield. She was very active in the local community, particularly as an observer of the school board in the Richfield League of Women Voters, a member of the Charter Commission, and as a reporter for the Richfield News.
