Titles: Sherwood Bros. Auto-Bob No 42 wooden sled (Supplied title)
Description: Wooden sled used by Peter H. ffolliott, Sr., and family. The sled has two sets of steel runners, two handrails, and a "steerable" front end that snaps back into forward position with a steel spring. The platform is marked: "SHERWOOD / AUTO / BOB", with an image of a boy riding the sled down a snowy hill. The underside is printed: "SHERWOOD BROS. MFG. CO. INC. / SHERWOOD / CANASTOTA, N.Y., U.S.A. / PATENTS PENDING / No 42". All wooden parts are covered in varnish. In 1916 Sherwood sold this, the company's original model, for $30.00 per dozen.
