Description: BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Mario Duarte was born in El Salvador, to Raul Bustamante and Maria Luisa Duarte. He attended the Dale Carnegie Institute and the National University of El Salvador for sociology. Duarte later married Esperanza Quesada and together raised four children. Due to the Civil War in El Salvador Duarte and his family escaped to the United States in 1982. He would serve as a prominent figure for the Latino community in Minnesota.
