| Description | BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: John Choi was born in Seoul, South Korea but immigrated to St. Paul, Minnesota with his parents at the age of 3. He received his bachelor's degree from Marquette University and his law degree from Hamline University. John was the Saint Paul City Attorney from 2006-2010, and is currently the Ramsey County Attorney. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Early life; family; the importance of education to Korean immigrant families; embracing American culture as a child; college; practicing law; becoming socially and politically active; becoming St. Paul Attorney and his achievements at the job; getting more Koreans active in society and politics; campaign for Ramsey County Attorney; similarities between all immigrants to the United States. |
