Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Gerald W. Heaney was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals (8th Circuit) in 1966 and served in the federal court system until 2006. He died in 2010. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Brief comments on his early life in Goodhue, Minnesota, and his service in World War II. The majority of the interview deals with Heaney's political and judicial activities, and his work with various national political figures including Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale, Lyndon Johnson, Robert Kennedy, and Eugene McCarthy.
