House Divided Oral History Project: Interview with Robert Anderson

Titles: House Divided Oral History Project: Interview with Robert Anderson (Supplied title)

Description: Governor Quie's press secretary, Anderson talks mostly of the concern of the Governor's Office in getting Quie's legislative message to the people - the constitutional amendments, the energy bill, etc. Anderson says it was important that the Governor define the state's legislative agenda rather than having it come from the DFL-dominated House or Senate. He feels they succeeded. Anderson also said that the weakened DFL made it easier for the administration to play a large role in the affairs of the House. Anderson also spends a great deal of time detailing the energy fight and the bonding bill. The interview is good because it is so completely from the administrative perspective.
