Titles: Holy Roman Empire coin (Supplied title)
Description: Coin issued by the Holy Roman Empire in 1751. Its front is engraved with the words, "Francisc[us] D[ei] G[ratia] Rom[anorum] Imp[erator] S[emper] A[ugustus]" (Francis, by the grace of God emperor of the Romans, forever Augustus). Its back is engraved with a double-headed eagle surrounded by the words, "Mon[eta] Nov[ae?] Reip[ublicae] Brem[en] 1751" (Mint of the new Republic of Bremen 1751). The coin was originally carried in a purse used by Sergeant Matthew Marvin of the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment, Company K during the Civil War.
