Description: Hmong story cloth illustrating Hmong men and women carrying out traditional village activities at sunrise including feeding chickens and goats, taking produce to market, gathering water, pounding rice, tending and harvesting plants. Tan cotton/polyester fabric with cotton embroidery. Appliquéd borders of tan, dark red and white with a middle border of dark red mountain motifs. Story cloths were made for sale by Hmong refugees in Thailand and were sold around the world. Made in Ban Vinai, Thailand, circa 1989.
