Description: A Lucite-encased sample of the first commercial Scotch brand magnetic tape produced by 3M in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1947, with box and lid, and tissue paper. The clear, square-shaped block has a folded sample of magnetic tape that allows both front and back to be seen at the same time. Next to the sample is a paper label description. The white paper box has a striped lid, and tissue paper has been folded inside of it.
