Description Papier-mâché vejigante mask made by Puerto Rican-Minnesotan artist and musician Ricardo Gómez. The adult size mask is painted purple and orange with embellishments in red, green, and white acrylic paint. It was worn with accompanying jump suit, ID Number 2015.58.1.B, and hood, ID Number 2015.58.1.C, at parades, festivals, and performances of Gómez's Bomba & Plena group, Proyecto La Plena. The vejigante is Puerto Rican folklore character appearing in many festival celebrations.
