Description: Spanish armed forces Model 1893 Mauser 7 mm bolt action rifle. This model of Mauser rifle was the standard armament of the Spanish forces during the Spanish American War. The rifle has a walnut stock, iron mountings, an elevating rear sight and a blade front sight. The upper barrel band has a bayonet lug; the lower band has a sling swivel. The rifle was a souvenir of the Spanish-American War retrieved from Cuba by William B. Folwell of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Manufactured by Fabrique National in Herstal, near Liège, Belgium.
