Description: Percussion double barreled rifle. The gun was reportedly used by Parker J. Pierce during the 1862 U.S.-Dakota War. The rifle has a walnut half-stock with an engraved patchbox and octagon-to-round barrels; the right is rifled .45 caliber, the left is smoothbore .53 caliber. The gun has a double-set trigger and a plain wooden ramrod (not original). Made by R. Ashmore and Son in England.
