Minnesota Polka Oral History Project: Interview with John Filipczak
The interview session took place in the hall of the Polish-American Club at 1003 Arcade Street in St. Paul. Filipczak's band, the Classics, was about to rehearse in anticipation of making their first recording at the end of March. They were also going to play later that afternoon at the Club for a Valentine's dance. The interview concerns the Polish-American music in the Twin Cities where John Filipczak has been a fixture for thirty years, playing with many noted bands and currently leading his own "honky" style group. See the interview summary for further description.
