Description |
Minnesota Home Guard sergeant's wool uniform sack coat. The four-pocket coat has a high standing collar and light olive mohair tape above the cuffs. The front has a button closure with three of the original five gilded metal Great Seal buttons present. The pocket label on the right interior is marked "Schaub Bros./ INC./ St. Paul". One shoulder is sewn with a maroon felt wool disc that features the yellow image of a gopher within a yellow circle. The patch is said to represent the 4th Anti-Aircraft and Machine Gun battalion, an all-Minnesota draft. |
