Non-regulation cartridge box
Tarred leather non-regulation cartridge box and belt. The underside of the outer flap reads: "Henry A. Swift / NEW ULM / Aug 23 / 1862". Swift served as the third governor of Minnesota, completing Alexander Ramsey's second term, from 1863 to 1864. The box has two belt loops and two flaps enclosing a pouch for percussion caps and a patch of brown fur.
