Description |
A battlefield features an Indian attack on the camp of soldiers in the 6th Minnesota Volunteer infantry. Men and horses lie defeated in the camp; tents and wagons are full of bullet holes. A second group of soldiers are in armed position behind the Indians. High on a hill at the left, a figure on horseback gives signal with a red flag. In response to the flag, the Indians begin their retreat into the distant hills. A United States flag stands in the camp and a second United States flag is carried by the infantry at the far right. |
